Casserole
  • 6 croissants cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
Custard
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine croissant pieces and mixed berries. Spread in the baking dish.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant and berry mixture.
  5. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use brioche croissants. You can also add a streusel topping for extra sweetness and crunch.
