Ingredients
  

Chicken Shawarma
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Wrap Ingredients
  • 4 large pita breads or wraps
  • 0.5 cup shredded lettuce
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup thinly sliced red onion
Garlic Sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2-3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • a pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Marinate chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, turmeric, cayenne (optional), salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked and browned (8-10 minutes).
  3. Warm pita bread or wraps until pliable.
  4. Spread garlic sauce on each wrap. Add lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cooked chicken.
  5. Fold and roll up the wrap tightly. Serve immediately.
  6. Combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt for the garlic sauce. Mix well.

Notes

Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper and garlic to your preference for a spicier or more garlicky flavor.
