Ingredients
  

Cookies
  • 14.1 oz refrigerated sugar cookie dough
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • Red food coloring optional
  • Sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out dough and cut heart shapes.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Cool completely.
  5. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Divide cream cheese mixture; add red food coloring to half (optional).
  7. Spread jam on half of the cookies.
  8. Spread cream cheese mixture on the other half.
  9. Make sandwiches.
  10. Decorate with sprinkles (optional).
  11. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade strawberry jam.
