Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 bag frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes (optional for topping)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix hash browns, sour cream, soup, 1.5 cups cheese, onion, butter, salt, and pepper.
  3. Transfer to a greased 9x13 inch dish, top with remaining cheese, and add cornflakes if desired.
  4. Bake for 45-55 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  5. Let cool briefly before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, sprinkle crushed cornflakes on top before baking.
