Easy Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket with Golden Crust

These cheesy pigs in a blanket are a quick and easy snack or appetizer. The golden crust and melted cheese make them irresistible!

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count)
  • 8 small smoked sausages (cocktail weiners or hot dogs)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese cut into halves
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  3. Place a half slice of cheddar cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Place a beef sausage on top of the cheese.
  5. Roll up the dough from the wide end to the point.
  6. Place the pigs in a blanket on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with milk.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, brush with melted butter instead of milk.
