EASY PUMPKIN SOURDOUGH BREAD

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Topping (optional)
  • pumpkin seeds pumpkin seeds for topping optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix sourdough starter, pumpkin, water, and oil until smooth.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add to wet mixture, stirring into a dough.
  4. Knead dough for 5-7 minutes until elastic, then place in pan and let rise 1-2 hours.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding; cool before slicing.

Notes

For a crunchier crust, brush with egg wash before baking.
