Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon lemon zest
  • Juice of 1 lemon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Butter
  • as needed Butter for greasing
Powdered sugar
  • for serving Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Method
 

  1. Grease a 9x13-inch dish and layer bread and blueberries.
  2. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, lemon zest, juice, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Pour mixture over bread and blueberries, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 45-55 minutes until golden and set.
  5. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve.

Notes

For best results, prepare the night before and bake fresh in the morning.
