- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk wet ingredients until smooth.
- Combine pumpkin with wet mixture. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in nuts if using.
- Pour batter into pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix in milk to reach desired consistency.
- Spread frosting over cooled bread and sprinkle with nuts or cinnamon if desired.
