  • 1 pound bulk beef sausage
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls (8 ounces)
  • 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook sausage in a skillet until no longer pink; drain grease.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with sausage and cheese. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper; pour over sausage and cheese.
  3. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a spicier casserole, use hot sausage or add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the egg mixture.
