Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cake is completely cool, frost with vanilla frosting.
- Decorate with pastel sprinkles and sliced fresh strawberries.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can add a layer of sliced strawberries between two cake layers if you bake two thinner cakes instead of one thick one.
