  • 12 fresh jalapenos
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough 1 package
  • Candy eyes

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
  3. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, and garlic powder.
  4. Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture.
  5. Unroll crescent roll dough and cut into thin strips.
  6. Wrap the strips of dough around each filled jalapeno to resemble a mummy, leaving a small space for the eyes.
  7. Place the wrapped jalapenos on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and immediately add candy eyes to the exposed cheese area.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a spicier kick, leave some of the jalapeno seeds in!
