Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel, cube, and boil sweet potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain and mash sweet potatoes. Mix in brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Spread mixture in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with marshmallows and pecans if using.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until marshmallows are golden. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon on top before baking.
