Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease baking dish.
- Cook sausage in skillet, breaking into crumbles.
- Drain fat and set sausage aside.
- Whisk eggs, milk/cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Arrange tater tots in dish.
- Scatter sausage and cheese over tots.
- Pour egg mixture over everything.
- Cover with foil. Bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 15-25 minutes, until set (160°F/71°C).
- Let rest 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier casserole, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the egg mixture.
