Method
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange half of the bread cubes in the dish, then half of the ham and cheeses.
- Repeat layers with remaining bread, ham, and cheeses.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Pour egg mixture over the bread and cheese layers, pressing down gently.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove cover and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with green onions, if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use whole milk or add a splash of cream to the egg mixture.
