Ingredients
  

Canned Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 cans cherry pie filling
Cake Mix
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
Butter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
Nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Almond Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread cherry filling in a 9x13 inch dish.
  2. Drizzle vanilla and almond extracts over cherries. Mix cake mix with nuts if using, then sprinkle over cherries.
  3. Pour melted butter evenly over the top, then sprinkle salt.
  4. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, add more nuts or serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
